Ambassador Katherine Tai, U.S. Trade Representative
Ambassador Tai spent most of her career in public service focusing on international economic diplomacy, monitoring, and enforcement. She previously served as Chief Trade Counsel and Trade Subcommittee Staff Director for the House Ways and Means Committee in the United States Congress. In this capacity, Ambassador Tai played a pivotal role in shaping U.S. trade law, negotiations strategies, and bilateral and multilateral agreements, including the recently re-negotiated United-States-Mexico-Canada Agreement.
Ambassador Tai is an experienced World Trade Organization (WTO) litigator. She previously developed and tried cases for the Office of the United States Trade Representative, eventually becoming the Chief Counsel for China Trade Enforcement. Before transitioning to federal service, she practiced law in the private sector, clerked for district judges, and taught English in Guangzhou, China.

Merit Janow, Chairperson, Mastercard
Merit E. Janow is an internationally recognized expert in international trade and investment, with extensive experience in academia, government, international organizations and business. In addition, she has had a life-long involvement with Asia and is an expert in that region. For the past 18 years, Merit E. Janow has been a Professor of Practice at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and affiliated faculty at Columbia Law School. She teaches graduate courses in international trade/WTO law, comparative antitrust law, China in the global economy, international trade and investment policy, among others. She has held a number of leadership positions at the University. Currently, in addition to being Dean of SIPA, she is also Co-Director of the APEC Study Center and Chair of the Faculty Oversight Committee of Columbia’s Global Center East Asia.
Previously, she was Director of the Masters Program in International Affairs and Chair of Columbia University’s Advisory Committee on Socially Responsible Investing. Her research interests focus on international trade and investment, Asia, competition law and economic globalization. She has written several books, numerous articles and frequently speaks before business, policy, and academic audiences around the world.
From 1997 to 2000, Professor Janow served as the Executive Director of the first international antitrust advisory committee of the U.S. Department of Justice that reported to the Attorney General and the Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust. Her report recommended the creation of a global network of enforcers and experts which is now the ICN. Prior to joining Columbia’s faculty, Professor Janow was Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Japan and China (1989-93). She was responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing U.S. trade policies with Japan and China. She negotiated more than a dozen trade agreements with Japan and China during a period of intense economic and political tension between the United States and both Japan and China.
Professor Janow is on the Board of Directors of several corporations and not for profit organizations. In 2009, she became a charter member of the International Advisory Council of China’s sovereign wealth fund, China Investment Corporation or CIC.
Early in her career, Professor Janow was a corporate lawyer specializing in cross-border mergers and acquisitions with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in New York and before becoming a lawyer, worked at a think tank where she focused on US-Japan trade and economic relations. She grew up in Tokyo, Japan, and is fluent in Japanese. She has a JD from Columbia Law School where she was a Stone Scholar, and a BA in Asian Studies with honors from the University of Michigan. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission.

Roberta Lipson, Chair, United Family Hospitals
Roberta Lipson is CEO of Chindex International and Chairman of the Board of United Family Hospitals. She has 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry in China. Since she co-founded Chindex in 1981, the company has expanded from its business of capital medical equipment distribution to healthcare delivery. She is the creative force behind the United Family Healthcare brand, and its hospitals and clinics in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou and Wuxi. United Family is the first foreign invested and managed private healthcare group in China.
An active leader in the business community in Beijing, Lipson has served as a director of the US-China Business Council, as well as 4 successive terms on the board of the Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce – China (AmCham) and is Co-Chair of the Amcham Healthcare Forum. She also chairs the Board of the United Foundation for Chinese Orphans and is a co-founder of Kehilat Beijing. Lipson holds a BA from Brandeis University and an MBA from Columbia University.

Anne Tse is the President and CEO of Greater China for PepsiCo Inc., the world's leading Foods and Beverages company with 23 billion-dollar brands, including consumer favorites such as Pepsi, Lays, Quaker, and Gatorade.
Ms. Tse joined PepsiCo in 2010 and has since held several positions from VP of e-Commerce, to SVP and GM of Foods. Under her leadership, PepsiCo Greater China has achieved significant growth across multiple domain areas – from pioneering digitization since 2012, driving iconic innovations that propelled growth, step-changing brand penetration at all market tiers, to building future-back culture and capabilities.

Dr. Ann Hsing, Professor of Medicine, Stanford
Dr. Hsing is a professor of medicine at Stanford University. A senior fellow for the Center for Innovation in Global Health at Stanford University, Dr. Hsing has conducted population-based epidemiological studies on four continents, including North and South America, Asia, Africa, and Europe.
She is a leading expert in the epidemiology and etiology of prostate, hepatobiliary, and thyroid cancers as well as in hormonal carcinogenesis and circadian rhythm. Throughout her 22-year tenure at National Cancer Institute, Dr. Hsing developed extensive expertise in molecular epidemiology, global oncology, cancer prevention, and population-based studies in international settings. She has served on numerous committees and advisory boards, most recently as a member of the Editorial Board of Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention and as an academic editor of PLOS ONE. Dr. Hsing has authored more than 340 peer-reviewed articles, written seven book chapters, and mentored over 65 post-doctoral fellows and scholars.
Dr. Hsing currently serves as PI on the following funded projects:
• Stanford WELL for Life Study - a longitudinal study of 32,000 individuals in 5 countries (US, China, Taiwan, Singapore, and Thailand) to advance the science of well-being
• A study to assess patterns and trends of liver cancer in the Greater Bay area and in California and to project liver cancer burden in 20 years;
• A pilot study in the Bay area to investigate non-viral factors of liver cancer;
• A pilot study to investigate the clinical utility of ctNDA in post-treatment surveillance of liver cancer in Mongolia
• A study to investigate the role of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) body constitution type in relation to well-being, metabolic syndrome, and mental health;
She also serves as the Stanford PI of a consortium study of a genome-wide association study (GWAS) of prostate cancer in the African countries of Ghana, Senegal, Nigeria, and South Africa. More recently, her work involves big data studies using such resources as the National Health Insurance Research Database, SEER-Medicare, and other large administrative claims and medical record databases to identify clinically relevant questions to help inform clinical practice.

Catherine Pan, Partner, Dorsey & Whitney
Catherine is a Partner and Corporate Group Head in the firm’s New York office and chairs the firm’s globally recognized U.S.-China Practice. Catherine serves as a member of the Firm’s Management Committee, the executive body of the Firm.

Chelsea Clinton, Author and Global Health Advocate
As vice chair of the Clinton Foundation, Chelsea Clinton works alongside the Foundation’s leadership and partners to improve lives and inspire emerging leaders across the United States and around the world. This includes the Foundation’s early child initiative Too Small to Fail, which supports families with the resources they need to promote early brain and language development; and the Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U), a global program that empowers student leaders to turn their ideas into action. A longtime public health advocate, Chelsea also serves as vice chair of the Clinton Health Access Initiative and uses her platform to increase awareness around issues such as vaccine hesitancy, childhood obesity, and health equity.

Deborah Lehr is the Vice Chairman and Executive Director of the Paulson Institute. Dr. Ba was awarded one of the “20 Most Inspiring Women Leaders 2022” by The Women Leaders Magazine. Dr. Ba received NBC4 WORKING 4 THE COMMUNITY Award in 2019, recognizing her
outstanding achievements as a scientist, leader, and role model in the STEM field. Dr. Ba also received the inaugural Outstanding Achievement Award from Society for Neuro-Oncology of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association for her outstanding contribution to international cooperation in
2017.
She was named one of the “Top 300 Women Leaders in Global Health” in 2015 by the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies’ Global Health Programme. She was also awarded the Public Service Award in 2014 by the Chinese Biopharmaceutical Association–USA
for her long-term devotion and distinguished service to the global biopharmaceutical community. She was selected to receive the CRS WOMEN IN SCIENCES Award in 2011.
Dr. Ba has served on the Women in Science Committee of CRS (Control Release Society) since
2017. She is the former President of the Chinese Biopharmaceutical Association (2010-2011).
Mattie Bekink, China Dir, Economist Intelligence Corporate Network
Mattie Bekink is the China Director for the Economist Intelligence Corporate Network at The Economist Group. She is responsible for the Economist Intelligence Corporate Network’s China strategy, including program development and client engagement across China. Bekink has extensive experience in the public, private, and policy sectors. Prior to joining The Economist Group, she was the Executive Director of the Fulbright Commission in the Netherlands. She also ran an eponymous consulting business, advising businesses, universities, and non-profit organizations on China policy, strategy, public affairs, and CSR.
Bekink practiced law at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, has worked with the U.S.-Asia Law Initiative at New York University Law School and the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative China Program, and served in the legal department at General Motors China.
She has a B.A. in International Relations from Stanford University and a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center.

Tina Wu, Global Vice President, DuPont
Tina Wu is Global Vice President, General Manager of DuPont Mobility & Materials (M&M). In her current role, she has full P&L responsibilities for >$1B Business portfolio which comprises: Adhesives & Fluids, Multibase® Thermolplastics Materials and Tedlar® PVF protective film.
Ms. Wu brings deep experience and a track record of driving growth across a variety of markets including electronics, packaging, renewable energy, automotive and industrial. She has strong business acumen and rich experience in leading teams through complex

Virginia Tan is the founding partner of Teja Ventures, an early stage VC fund for emerging Asia, targeting early stage technology companies for the future of consumption. She also founded She Loves Tech, the world's largest startup competition for women and technology which is in more than 30 international locations in 2020. Qianci Liu, Renowned Concert Cellist
Qianci Liu earned her master’s degree in cello performance from Manhattan School of Music. She has 15-year experience in the performing arts industry as a performer, instructor, composer, recording artist, and Carnegie Hall concert producer. She is the Executive Director of Paulus Hook Music Foundation, New York Big Apple Music Festival and New York International Symphony Orchestra.
Qianci has been a cellist at the Shanghai Opera House Orchestra and took the role of the principal cellist in Broadway Musical “The Lion King” Shanghai Tour in 2005. She performed as the soloist for the Shanghai Bund Lights Show “Walking in the Bund” for 2018 & 2019 Shanghai Import Expo and “The Flowing Brilliance” in 2021. Fang-Tao Jiang, Hailed by world top music critic Anthony Tommasini from the New York Times as “intensely expressive”, a winner of The Bellini International Vocal Competition, soprano Fang-Tao Jiang made her sensational US debut at Carnegie Hall, Stern Auditorium as soprano soloist in John Rutter's Requiem.
